31-Year-Old Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Young Girl in Tionesta

FOREST CO., Pa. (EYT) — A 31-year-old man has been accused of sexually assaulting a young girl while she was at a camp in Tionesta, Green Township, Forest County.

According to court documents, Marienville-based State Police filed criminal charges against 31-year-old Kenneth B. Baker, of Mercer.

According to a criminal complaint, on July 21, 2016, Forest County Children and Youth Services (CYS) reported a case of suspected child abuse to Marienville-based State Police.

The complaint states that Forest County CYS personnel indicated the victim was participating in a Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) interview in Mercer County when she related that the crime was committed in Forest County.

Trooper Weaver, of PSP Marienville, obtained a copy of the CAC interview on July 26, 2016, the complaint indicates.

In the interview, the juvenile stated that she was a victim of sexual assault in the Tionesta area at a camp with Kenneth Baker. The victim stated that she sat on Baker’s lap, and he touched her inappropriately, according to the complaint.

On July 29, 2016, during a conversation with the victim’s mother, Trooper Weaver learned that the victim was at a camp located on Hillside Drive, in Green Township, Forest County. The victim’s mother stated that the victim was only at the camp three times which would have been during July of 2008, 2009, and 2010, the complaint continues.

Based on his investigation, Trooper Weaver filed a criminal complaint against Baker in Magisterial District Judge Daniel L. Miller’s office on November 8, 2016.

Court documents indicate Baker is awaiting a preliminary hearing on the following charges:

  • Aggravated Indecent Assault — Complainant Less Than 13 Years Old, Felony 2
  • Indecent Assault Person Less than 13 Years of Age, Misdemeanor 1

A court date for the hearing has not yet been scheduled.
