MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (EYT) — The Karns City football team will enter the PIAA playoffs against District 10 3A champion Hickory at 1 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock University.

That is just one of a handful of District 9 and PIAA events taking place this weekend.

Also in football, Kane will take on Chestnut Ridge at 7 p.m. Friday at DuBois’ Mansell Stadium in a PIAA Class 2A first-round contest, while Ridgway and Elk County Catholic will meet for the District 9 Class 1A title at 7 p.m. Friday at Brockway’s Varischetti Field.

In volleyball, District 9 champion Coudersport takes on WPIAL champion Greensburg Central Catholic at 7 p.m. Tuesday at DuBois High School.

DuBois High School is also the location of a PIAA boys’ 3A soccer match at 6 p.m. Tuesday when District 10 champ Erie Cathedral Prep faces District 3 champion Lower Dauphin on the Turf Field.
