CUP Men’s Hoops Falls at East Stroudsburg

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The Clarion men’s basketball team was defeated on the road Saturday afternoon falling by a final score of 103-76 against East Stroudsburg University.

The loss moves the Golden Eagles to 1-3 on the regular season and 0-1 in the PSAC. The Blue and Gold return to action Sunday when they take on West Chester.

Guard Manny Powell led the Blue and Gold with 17 points, shooting 5-11 (45%) from the field, adding an assist and three rebounds as well. Cameron Grumley and Jamani Pierce followed closely behind with 15 points apiece. Grumely also led the team in total rebounds with five.

The Golden Eagles got off to a slow start in the first half, putting up just 29 points through the games first 20 minutes. They would find their offensive footing in the second, however, putting up 47 in the second including three of five three-pointers.
