Anna Karns Stewart

stewartAnna Karns Stewart, 46, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 21, 2016 after battling cancer for a lengthy time.

Anna was born on Oct. 30, 1970, daughter of Fred Karns Sr. & the late Toni Aikens Karns.

Anna was a graduate of Oil City High School.

She enlisted in the United States Army in 1988.

While in the military, Anna earned her parachutist badge and several other awards.

Anna was deployed to Somalia and Southwest Asia (Iraq) and served during Desert Storm.

She reached the rank of SSG/ E6.

She enjoyed attending her kids events while they participated in cheerleading, track, gymnastics and wrestling.

She also enjoyed traveling with her kids to show their livestock, including cattle, goats, horses and pigs.

Anna was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church.

She leaves behind her loving husband Mark A. Stewart and three wonderful loving children, Cheyenne Stewart, Colton Stewart and Amy Stewart; her father Fred Karns Sr. of Cooperstown; two brothers Fred Karns Jr. and his wife Kelley of Oil City and John Miller and his wife Vonna of Wilcox; her sister Genia Gaisford and her husband David of Ohio; her in-laws Donald Stewart of Oregon, Kent Stewart of Montana, and Keller Stewart of Oklahoma.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her step-mother Rona Karns and her grandparents Howard & Ruby Aikens and Earl and Elizabeth Karns.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 3, 2016 at the Oakland United Methodist Church at 12 noon with Rev. Dr. Edward P. Saxman , Presiding.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or to a Walk for Life Program.
