NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (EYT) — New Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its second annual Christmas Open House on Sunday, December 4.
It will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The event benefits the families of children who are admitted to the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
It was started to help the families whose children were unexpectedly admitted by providing them with some necessary supplies and a “virtual hug.”
This fundraiser is spearheaded by Laura Neiswonger, of New Bethlehem, whose son spent several days at CHP when he was three years old.
Chinese auction tickets will be available at the door the day of the event.
Prizes include a Crickett rifle donated by Veronesi’s Gunworks; a toy set from Hetricks Farm Supply; Willa American Girl Wellie Wisher; and other prizes donated by each of the vendors and other businesses.

The money raised during this event will be used to provide care packages for the families and children admitted into the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Advanced sale tickets — available by a $5.00 donation — can be picked up at RMS Furniture located at 227 Wood Street, New Bethlehem, Pa. They will be available until the day before the event.
Advanced tickets will guarantee participants a passport, a swag bag, and an entry into a special drawing for $100.00 cash.
