Operator Loses Control of Tractor-Trailer in Beaver Township, Jackknifes on Roadway

BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say around 11:13 p.m. on December 11, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 West, at mile marker 57.8, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

According to police, 27-year-old Abdi U. Galbeed, of Columbus, OH, was traveling west on I-80 and lost control of his 2007 Freightliner tractor-trailer. The vehicle jackknifed on the roadway and then exited on the north side.

The left front of the vehicle then struck the north side ditch and came to a rest. The trailer came to a rest on the right westbound travel lane, police say.

Galbeed was using a seatbelt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

Knox Fire Department assisted at the scene.
