Clarion Man Sentenced One to Three Years on Drug Charges

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — A Clarion man with a lengthy criminal record won’t be home for Christmas.

Clinton James Shanafelt, 46, of Clarion, was sentenced to serve 12 to 36 months on December 14 in the Clarion Court of Common Pleas by President Judge James Arner.

Shanafelt pleaded guilty on November 2 to one count of Conspiracy for the Manufacture, Delivery or Possession With the Intent to Manufacture or Deliver a Controlled Substance.

Shanafelt’s criminal record dates back to 1993 when he was placed on Accelerated Rehab Disposition for driving under the influence.

He also served time on charges relating to criminal homicide in the late 1990’s.

Shanafelt was on probation for nine months after entering a guilty plea on charges relating to a fight and defiant trespass.

Earlier this month, he was found not guilty of the alleged sexual assault of a six-year old girl.
