Trail Camera Helps Identify Knox Man Involved in Beaver Township Theft

BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Knox man is facing theft and related charges stemming from an incident that occurred on Route 338, in Knox, Beaver Township, Clarion County.

According to court documents, Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against 20-year-old Bradly Scott Brown, of Knox.

According to a criminal complaint, when a known victim noticed several items missing from his shed located at the above described location, he placed a trail camera on a tree near it. The camera was able to capture two perpetrator(s) and a vehicle in front of the shed, the complaint states.

Around 11;22 p.m. on May 16, the victim was able to identify the vehicle by the style, the tie downs, and toolbox on the truck bed. The victim showed police a Facebook page of Bradly Brown that revealed an identical match to the vehicle captured on the trail cam, the complaint continues.

One perpetrator was believed to be Bradly Brown, identified by the glasses that he was wearing. Additionally, Bradly Brown posted a picture on Facebook of a doghouse that was made of OSB board which was one of the items that was stolen from the shed, according to the complaint.

Bradly Brown was interviewed at 9:54 a.m. on October 1, and he allegedly admitted to stealing several items from the victim’s shed. Brown informed police that he stole two to three carburetors, approximately a dozen rotors, and three to four small engines along with the other items listed by the victim, the complaint states.

Brown was arraigned at 9:45 a.m. on December 22 in front of Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk on the following charges:

– Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1
– Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 1

Brown is free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on January 31 in front of Judge Turk.

The victim also identified the other perpetrator on the trail cam by his goatee. No court documents have been filed against him.
