CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police responded to the following calls:
One-Vehicle Crash in Beaver Township
A one-vehicle crash occurred around 1:21 a.m. on January 6 on Interstate 80 West, west of State Route 338, at approximately mile marker 52.2.
This crash occurred as a 2016 GMC 3500 — driven by 24-year-old Shaaneali Hirji, of East Norwich, New York — was traveling in the right lane and hit a patch on ice on the bridge. The vehicle hit the bridge on the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then reentered the roadway and came to a rest on the right berm of I-80.
Hirji and a passenger — 27-year-old Michael J. Karavas, of Farmingdale, New York — were using seat belts and were not injured.
Theft in Monroe Township
A theft occurred sometime between October 1 and January 3 at a residence located on Curllsville Road, in Curllsville, in Monroe Township.
The victim — a 90-year-old woman — had money stolen from her residence.
The investigation continues.
