Clarion Woman Faces Endangering Welfare of Children Charges After Police Allegedly Find Used Needles, Crack Pipe in Residence

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — A Clarion mother is facing child endangerment and other charges stemming from a drug-related incident that occurred in the Borough of Clarion.

According to online court documents, the Clarion Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 35-year-old Jessica L. Lesko, of Clarion.

According to a criminal complaint, on Tuesday, January 10, the Clarion Borough Police received information that there was drug activity at Lesko’s residence located on Penn Avenue where two children, ages 11 and 13, were present.

Based on the information, Borough Police and Clarion-based State Police served a search warrant on January 10. Nine items were seized from the residence, including numerous needles, crack pipes, and other drug paraphernalia, the complaint states.

Used needles were allegedly located underneath the coffee table in the living room, the complaint states

Police allege that Lesko failed to provide protection and support to the children, according to the complaint.

She was arraigned at 6:00 p.m. on January 10 in front of Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn on the following charges:

  • Endangering Welfare of Children — Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor (two counts)

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, Lesko was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:45 a.. on January 17 with Judge Quinn presiding.
