Karen G. Luderer

Karen G. Luderer, of Clarion, passed away on February 1, 2017 at her home following a brave battle with cancer. She was 70 years of age.

Born on December 26, 1946, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Richard B. and Catherine (Genkinger) Gardner. A 1968 graduate of Westminster College, she Karen majored in Elementary Education.

On August 10, 1968, she married Robert C. Luderer, who survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Dr. Matthew Luderer, of Greensburg, PA, and Dr. Mark Luderer, of Zelienople, PA; two grand-daughters, Alexis and Sydni Luderer of Greensburg, PA; one brother, Dr. Robert Gardner, and his wife, Beverly, of Englewood, OH, one niece and four nephews; and a brother-in-law, Dr. Jack Luderer, of Kalamazoo, MI.

The family would like to thank the members and staff of First United Methodist Church of Clarion, the Cancer Center of Clarion Hospital, and the Clarion-Forest VNA for all their care and support.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion. As per Karen’s wishes, there will be no viewing. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, 600 Wood Street in Clarion. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Kevin R. Haley, Pastor, and Rev. Arnie Rhodes, Pastor Emeritus, co-officiating. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery.
