Construction Postponed on Callensburg Road Bridge in Licking Township

LICKING TWP., Pa. – Construction for the Callensburg Road (SR 2009) bridge, spanning Cherry Run in Licking Township, Clarion County, has been postponed. The replacement project is part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.

The project was previously scheduled to begin this week but construction is now expected to begin during the week of February 27 and be complete in early May. During construction, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 368 (Callensburg Road), Route 58 (Callensburg Road), Route 68 (Colerain Street) and Huey Road (SR 3012).

Construction dates are subject to change due to unforeseen activities or unfavorable weather.

This bridge is referred to as JV-384 and is one out of 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.

The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP), under which PWKP will finance, design, replace, and maintain the bridges for 25 years. The P3 approach will allow PennDOT to replace the bridges more quickly while achieving significant savings and minimizing impact on motorists.
