Seven Hills Quilts and Crafts Replaces Stewart Laboratories

CORSICA, Pa. (EYT) — The decision to open Seven Hills Quilts and Crafts the Friday of Autumn Leaf Festival last year came with the selling of the Stewart Laboratories business near I-80 Exit 70.

The store’s opening day was the same day as the annual ALF Crafters Day, but the store still attracted a steady stream of customers all day.

“We sold Stewart Laboratories a year ago in January,” said Pam Stewart.  “We decided that instead of selling the building we wanted to do something with it and turned it into a little craft store.”

Stewart previously worked with crafts and sold them at flea markets on the weekends and already had a sales tax license required to sell crafts, so the decision to start a store was a natural progression.

“We wanted to keep the prices reasonable, so people have a place to shop,” said Stewart. “We have a lot of primitive and a little bit of antiques, candles, and a little bit of everything. The customers love our prices and the variety of different primitive stuff.  The homemade crafts go very well.”
