Charges Dropped Against North Clarion Teen Accused of Threatening to Shoot Up School

FARMINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Charges against a North Clarion High School student who was accused of threatening to “shoot up” the school were dropped on Tuesday in Clarion County District Court.

Donald Louis Haywood, Jr., 18, of Tylersburg, was charged with Terroristic Threats and Disorderly Conduct after Marienville-based State Police say he “was heard telling another student from the North Clarion Schools not to go to school tomorrow (February 2) because he was going to ‘shoot the place up.’”

Troopers Lauer and Benson responded to the suspect’s residence in Tylersburg February 1. Haywood was then interviewed and taken into custody.

According to police, “No further plans were discovered to further his statement.”

All charges were withdrawn on Tuesday, March 28, at a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill.

The case is now closed, according to online court documents.

Calls to the Clarion County District Attorney’s Office for comment were not immediately returned.
