Homeowners Discover Burglar in Sigel Summer House

ELDRED TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say a burglary occurred at a summer residence located along O’Donnell Road, in Sigel, Eldred Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, around 12:40 p.m. on March 28, the victims (two females from State College, ages 58 and 82) arrived to check on their summer residence, and upon entry through the front entrance, an unknown white male was discovered inside the house.

A brief conversation occurred between the male suspect and victims before he fled out the rear entrance of the residence. He then fled on foot into a wooded area.

On March 29, based on descriptive information received from the victims, a 29-year-old known, white male was taken into custody based on an unrelated warrant, police say.

The investigation is ongoing, and an update is forthcoming, according to police.

Police indicate the incident involves burglary and drug/paraphernalia possession.
