CLARION, Pa. — An incumbent jurist seeking election to Pennsylvania’s highest court will be the featured speaker at the spring breakfast scheduled by the Clarion County Republican Committee, chairman Rick Rathfon recently announced.

Sallie Mundy (pictured above), who practiced law for 20 years before being elected to the Pennsylvania Superior Court in 2009, will be the keynote speaker at the 7:30 a.m. breakfast to be held April 28 at Park Inn by Radisson.

She was nominated in 2016 to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court.

In addition to Mundy, party faithful attending the $25.00-a-plate gathering will also hear from party leaders who hold elective office on the county level as well as positions whose jurisdictions go beyond county boundaries, like State Senator Scott Hutchison and Representative Donna Oberlander.

Incumbent Sheriff Rex Munsee and District Judge Duane Quinn, both seeking reelection, will also present comments, as will Randall Stom and Rollie Burns, who are seeking the nomination to a four-year-term to succeed retiring county coroner Terry Shaffer.

Early in her career, Mundy had practiced law at a firm in Centre County, and she later practiced law in Philadelphia and its suburbs. In 2009, she became the only statewide elected official from the northern tied of the state.

She was born and reared n Tioga County where she said she was “raised to understand the values of faith, family, and hard work.” She pledges to the public is to be “a justice for all.”

She received her undergraduate degree at Washington and Jefferson College and her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of law.

Mundy is the mother of five children, the oldest of whom is a freshman at The Citadel.
