Clarion University Student Searching for Woman Who Helped Her After Route 66 Crash

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (EYT) — An Erie woman involved in a traffic accident on Route 66 Thursday is trying to reach out to a woman who stopped to help her.

Andrea Griffith, a graduate student at Clarion University, was headed to Shannock Valley early Thursday morning when she hydroplaned and hit some trees while traveling on Route 66 between Clarion and New Bethlehem.

“I am okay. I was alone in my car, it was my first car accident, and I am away from home so it was very scary to say the least. Luckily, two kind souls stopped their cars once they saw the accident to make sure I was OK,” Griffith said.

“The woman who stopped was in nursing scrubs. She introduced herself to me as either Shannon or Sharon. She calmed me down and was the person who called 911 for me.”

“When the ambulance got there she took off, so unfortunately I did not get the chance to personally thank her or the other driver that stopped. She was so calming and helpful in such a scary and chaotic moment for me and I want to thank her if possible.”

If the woman who stopped to help reads this, please email exploreClarion at [email protected].
