Venango County Man Life-Flighted to Hamot Following Suspected DUI Crash

CORNPLANTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say a DUI crash occurred on Sunday afternoon on State Route 8, in Cornplanter Township, Venango County.

According to police, around 4:50 p.m. on June 25, a known, 37-year-old Oil City man was traveling north on Route 8 toward Rouseville Borough and drove his 2015 Chevrolet Silverado off the roadway and struck a utility pole. The truck subsequently struck a concrete wall at the Sasol plant before coming to a rest.

Police say it was determined that the known driver was under the influence of alcohol.

He suffered numerous injuries and was flown by Stat Medevac to UPMC Hamot in Erie for treatment, according to police.

Oil City Fire Department, Cornplanter Township Volunteer Fire Department, Community Ambulance Service, and Lowry’s Towing assisted at the scene.

Charges are pending BAC results.

The name of the driver was not released.
