Becker Honored with Prestigious Keystone Award for 30 Years of Service

CLARION, Pa. — Tracy Becker, Executive Director of the Clarion Area Chamber of Business & Industry, has been awarded the Keystone Award for outstanding service by a Chamber of Commerce Executive.

The award was presented at the Awards Ceremony during the 2017 PACP Chamber Professionals & Leadership Conference held at The Park Inn in Clarion, PA on Thursday, October 26, 2017.

The Keystone Award was established in 1963 to recognize outstanding service in, and contributions to, the profession of chamber management in Pennsylvania. It is the highest honor bestowed by the Pennsylvania Association of Chamber Professionals (PACP). It is not presented on an annual basis, but only at such times as an individual has merited such recognition. Becker is only the 24th recipient of the award.

Becker began her chamber career in 1987.  Nominated by members of her staff, they indicated that she has dedicated her life to the betterment of the community.  Tracy’s tireless efforts are the backbone to the highly successful and international award-winning Autumn Leaf Festival™ which recently won the 2017 Event of the Year award at the PA Wilds awards ceremony earlier this year.

Becker is a Certified Festival and Events Executive, and she is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organizational Management.

She currently serves as a Board Member of PACP.

Seven other chamber of commerce professionals were awarded PACP’s distinguished Service Awards during the ceremony:

5 Years of Service

Susan Hovanec – Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber
Jeff Shaffer – Central PA Chamber
Abbie Eileen Sholley – Greater Susquehanna Chamber
Jenny Wentz – Greater Susquehanna Chamber

15 Years of Service

Fred Gaffney – Columbia Montour Chamber

20 Years of Service

Joe Hurd – Blair County Chamber
Debra Keefer – Mon Valley Regional Chamber

To qualify, candidates must have been in full-time chamber or chamber-sponsored affiliate management for at least five years, must now be serving in chamber management in Pennsylvania, and must have been a PACP member for at least three consecutive years.

PACP’s Service Awards are meant to promote and recognize outstanding chamber service not only to the individual’s community but also to their professional association.
