Serial Check Forger Wanted in Several Counties

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) – A 30-year-old man is on the radar of several law enforcement agencies in western Pennsylvania.

According to a published article on ButlerEagle.com, 30-year-old Scott Elliott Payne Jr., of Pittsburgh, is being sought by police in five different counties, including Clarion, for numerous check forging incidents.

Payne is also wanted in Butler, Allegheny, Westmoreland, and Washington counties.

State police in Clarion County charged Payne on October 16, by summons, for forging a bad check on September 8 in Beaver Township.

There are a total of seven arrest warrants out for Payne who has nine forgery convictions in Pennsylvania.

Court records show that Payne has 18 felony convictions for crimes including forgery, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, unlawful use of a computer, and escape.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Payne is asked to contact the local authorities.
