Roy FerringerRoy R. Ferringer, 76, of Knox, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh after a short illness.

He was born on December 15, 1940 in Curllsville; son of the late Dart Ferringer and Mary Jane Sherman Buzzard.
Roy attended Union High School.

He married Victoria L. Slike on May 1, 1971, and she survives.

Roy attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion.

He was a former member of the Rod and Gun Club in Knox. Roy retired from the Laborers Union Local #952. He was also a deputy for the Pennsylvania State Fish Commission. Roy was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He also loved to travel to casinos with his wife.

In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by his daughter, Megan Blauvelt and her husband Todd of Glenshaw and two grandchildren, Rowan Elizabeth and Lincoln Alexander both at home.

He is also survived by his three brothers, Kenneth Ferringer and his wife Deborah of Callensburg, Joseph Ferringer of Curllsville, Lee Ferringer and his wife Mary Ellen of Templeton, his sister, Sue Bowser and her husband Bill of Templeton, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Donald, and his stepfather, Harry Buzzard.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion with Services to follow at 11 a.m. in the Church with Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor presiding.

Interment will be held in the Churchville Cemetery.
