NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (EYT) — The Redbank Valley FFA Chapter hosted a lunch for veterans and held an assembly to honor local veterans at Redbank Valley High School Friday afternoon.

Students served lunch to 45 veterans and guests and also gave each veteran a custom-designed T-shirt.

FFA Chapter President Maggie Rankin designed the shirts, and Chapter members sold T-shirts to students and faculty to raise money to donate to Mechling-Shakely Veterans Center in Cowansville.

Members also collected donations from the community and were able to donate $600.00 to the veterans center.

Guest speakers for the event were Jennifer Blake and recent Redbank Valley graduate Devin Schimp.

During the assembly, chapter members thanked veterans for their service.
