Rimersburg Man Accused of Choking Boy

KNOX TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Rimersburg man was arrested after he allegedly choked a boy during a domestic incident on Wednesday night in Knox Township, Clarion County.

According to court documents, 34-year-old Ryan Michael Salizzoni, of Rimersburg, was arraigned early Thursday morning in District Judge Timothy Schill’s office on the following offenses:

– Strangulation — Applying Pressure to Throat or Neck, Felony 2
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment, Subject Other to Physical Contact

Salizzoni bonded out on $500.00 by a private surety (10% of $5,000.00 monetary bail).

Salizzoni’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, in front of Judge Schill.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Clarion-based State Trooper Tate Allison, he was called to a Knox Township residence along Route 66 around 9:38 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, for a report of a domestic assault.

The victim — an 11-year-old boy — told Trooper Allison that Salizzoni picked him up by the neck with his hand and held him against the wall. Trooper Allison saw redness on the boy’s neck and left ear, the complaint states.

Tpr. Allison also spoke with the victim’s mother, and she said she had to pull Salizzoni from the boy after she saw what he was doing to him, according to the complaint.
