Two Caught in Drug Sweep Waive Preliminary Hearings

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Two of the 16 people charged with street-level drug trafficking in Clarion County last month waived their preliminary hearings.

According to court documents, 23-year-old Braden Ferringer, of Sligo, and 29-year-old Samantha Vera, of West Melbourne, Florida, waived their preliminary hearings.

Their cases were transferred to the Clarion County Court of Common Pleas.

Ferringer is facing the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
– Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

He was released from the Clarion County Jail after the defense and prosecution agreed to a change in bail status.

Vera faces the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
– Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3

Vera’s bail was reduced to $2,500.00 cash following a Defense Request and Agreement with the prosecution, according to court documents.

Court documents indicate that Vera remains in jail.

A felony charge of conspiracy to deliver oxycodone against another defendant in the drug sweep — 29-year-old Anthony Knight, of Knox — was withdrawn on December 12 in Judge Duane Quinn’s court. Knight remains in the Clarion County Jail on $25,000.00 cash bail on an unrelated case.
