Strattanville Man on Parole Cuts GPS Monitoring Bracelet, Wanted on Felony Flight Charge

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A Strattanville man is currently wanted for violating the conditions of his parole.

On January 30, the following charges were filed against 26-year-old Daniel J. Pompa, of Strattanville, at District Judge Duane L. Quinn’s office:

– Flight To Avoid Apprehension/Trial/Punishment, Felony 3
– Criminal Mischief-Damage Property, Misdemeanor 2

According to a criminal complaint, Detective William H. Peck of the Clarion Borough Police was contacted by a PA State Parole Agent Wetzel who had been supervising Daniel J. Pompa. Pompa was wearing a GPS monitoring system on his ankle as a part of his parole conditions. Parole Agent Wetzel told Detective Peck that at 5:40 a.m. on January 19, state parole received notification that the bracelet had been tampered with.

Assistance was requested to go to Pompa’s residence at 400 Main Street to locate him and the bracelet. Around 2:00 p.m., authorities arrived at the residence and neither Pompa nor the bracelet were located. A search of the area was conducted, and the GPS unit, which was cut, was found in a garbage dumpster at an apartment complex next to Pompa’s residence.

The bracelet was seized and logged into evidence at the Clarion County DA’s Office. The value of the bracelet is approximately $1,050.00.

Pompa is now considered to be a fugitive.
