YMCA Offers Free Post-Adoption Memberships to Families

CLARION, Pa. — Every adoption experience has its joys and challenges, and each adoption story is unique.

The Clarion County YMCA wants to help local families who have adopted children to strengthen family through memberships and programs.

The YMCA works with Bethany Christian Services to help families form strong bonds and learn a healthy lifestyle. Bethany Christian Services provides services and resources, so you don’t have to feel alone in your adoption journey. They work with the state of Pennsylvania to provide families with funding for programs and memberships to the YMCA.

“In most cases, $900.00 is available to families who have adopted,” said Jessica Setta of Bethany Services. “This money is provided through state funding to strengthen and support families.”

The YMCA works with Bethany Christian Services to get families a full year of membership and programs for a smooth transition and to strengthen family bonds.

“We invoice Bethany Christian Services directly,” said Michelle Murray, who is the Marketing and Membership Director for the Scenic Rivers Association, including the Clarion County YMCA and Oil City YMCA. “The process is simple. Families can contact Bethany Christian Services and we’ll work with them to get the family a membership and register for programs through the YMCA.”

Bethany Christian Services has offices in Meadville and Pittsburgh, but there is no need to travel. Jessica Setta is in charge of post-adoption services and will help families get up to $900.00 for services. She can be contacted at [email protected] or 814-547-3171.
