L. Jean Greenlee of Sandy Lake, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2018 at the age of 90. She was born on July 3, 1927 to the late Arthur “Ray” and Juanita Alfretta Deitrick Rosenberger in Pleasantville, PA.

Jean graduated from nurses’ training from the Oil City Hospital Cadet Nurses Training Program. She married her beloved husband, Craig H. Greenlee on November 24, 1948. Jean was known throughout Sandy Lake and Stoneboro for her gentle and compassionate skills as a nurse for Dr. J.C. File. She had also worked as a nurse at Polk State School & Hospital. Even though she was an excellent nurse, she was also an exceptional pianist. Jean began playing organ and piano for church at age twelve and continued playing organ and piano through her early eighties. Not only did she play for church, she played for numerous weddings and at many nursing homes. She always felt that this was her treasured gift from God and she shared that gift unselfishly.

Jean was a woman with a great faith in her Lord and Savior. She had a deep love for her Lord. Over her lifetime she taught Sunday school, helped with VBS, helped lead choir and was a long time member of the Women’s Missionary Society of North Sandy UP Church. After leaving North Sandy, Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Sandy Lake was her home church where she also played piano for several years.

Jean is survived by her husband, Craig, three children, Sandy (Dave) Bachman, Jackson Center, Michael (Brenda) Greenlee, Cochranton, and Carol (Bruce) Hoffman, Millbrook, where she was currently living, daughter in law Christine Greenlee, Cape Coral, FL, and a brother, Arthur R. (Myrtle) Rosenberger of Pleasantville. She is also survived by 7 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, 31 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son, Reverend Dr. Terry L. Greenlee, one infant grandchild, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 2 pm until 5 pm on Sunday, February 18. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11 am, Monday, February 19, with the Pastor Pat Confer, retired pastor of Sandy Lake Alliance Church, Officiating.

Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.
