Strattanville Man Due in Court for Violating Parole

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – A Strattanville man who is accused of cutting off his GPS monitor and violating his parole is scheduled to appear in court soon.

According to court documents, on January 30, 26-year-old Daniel J. Pompa, of Strattanville, was charged with the following offenses:

– Flight To Avoid Apprehension/Trial/Punishment, Felony 3
– Criminal Mischief-Damage Property, Misdemeanor 2

Pompa was arrested and arraigned on February 5.

He waived his preliminary hearing on February 20.

His plea court hearing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, in front of President Judge James Arner.

Case details:

According to a criminal complaint, Clarion County Detective William H. Peck IV was contacted by a PA State Parole Agent Wetzel who had been supervising Pompa. Pompa was wearing a GPS monitoring system on his ankle as a part of his parole conditions. Parole Agent Wetzel told Detective Peck that at 5:40 a.m. on Friday, January 19, state parole was notified that the bracelet had been tampered with.

When authorities arrived at the residence later that day, neither Pompa nor the bracelet was located. A search of the area was conducted, and the GPS unit, which was cut, was found in a garbage dumpster at an apartment complex next to Pompa’s residence.

The bracelet was seized and logged into evidence at the Clarion County DA’s Office. The value of the bracelet is approximately $1,050.00.

Pompa is on parole for crimes he committed in Jefferson County in 2014. He pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and disorderly conduct while engaging in fighting and was sentenced to a minimum of four months and a maximum of 11 years and 29 days.
