State Police Release Details of Paint Township Crash; Two Local Men Injured

PAINT TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police have released the details of a Paint Township crash that injured two local men last week.

According to police, around 4:15 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 27-year-old Travis E. Myers, of Sligo, was operating a 2014 Jeep Compass, traveling north on State Route 66 near the intersection of Route 66 and U.S. 322. At the same time, 62-year-old James R. Hartman, of Clarion, was operating a 1998 Ford F-150, traveling west on U.S. 322.

Police say Myers proceeded into the intersection when it was not clear to do so. Hartman’s vehicle struck Myers’ vehicle, and after the impact, Myers’ vehicle spun counter-clockwise and came to a rest facing east in the intersection. Hartman’s vehicle continued west and came to rest in a grassy area.

Myers suffered suspected minor injuries but refused transport for treatment.

Hartman suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to Clarion Hospital by Shippenville Ambulance.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Myers was cited for a traffic violation.

Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1, Mark’s Auto, and Rustler’s Towing assisted at the scene.
