Knox Woman Injured in Rollover Crash on Route 68

PINEY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred on Saturday afternoon on State Route 68, in Piney Township, Clarion County.

According to police, 26-year-old Emily M. Ortz, of Knox, and 39-year-old Brandy A. Gallagher, of Rimersburg, were involved in the collision.

Police say around 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, Ortz was traveling west in the westbound lane of Route 68 in a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo, and Gallagher was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Shamrock Drive and Route 68 in a 2013 Toyota RAV4.

Gallagher’s Toyota proceeded eastbound on Route 68 in front of Ortz’s Chevrolet. The Chevrolet then crossed into the eastbound lane and struck the Toyota. Both vehicles traveled off the south side of the roadway.

The Chevrolet came to a final rest facing east on the east side of the road.

The Toyota overturned into a drainage ditch facing northwest on the east side of the road directly in front of the Chevrolet.

Ortz suffered suspected minor injuries. She was using a seat belt.

Gallagher and a passenger — 40-year-old Michael T. Tasker, of Parker — were not injured. Both occupants were using seat belts.

Both drivers were charged with traffic violations.
