Softball: Bellotti Leads Forest Area Past Union

TIONESTA, Pa. (D9Sports) — Makiya Bellotti was 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBIs to help Forest Area to a 13-3, five-inning win over visiting Union at West Forest.

Cassie Cochran drove in four runs for the Fires while going 2-for-3, Jessica Wagner added a triple and an RBI and Fuquahah Seal was 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI.

Jasmine Ginnery got the win going five innings allowing three runs, none earned, on two hits while striking out three.

Drew Yoder and Vanessa Reddick each had singles for Union.

REDBANK VALLEY 7, CLARION-LIMESTONE 5

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Scoring all of its runs in its final three at-bats, Redbank Valley beat visiting Clarion-Limestone, 7-5.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed, 3-0 going to the fourth but scored two in the fourth to cut the deficit to one. C-L tacked on a run in the fifth to go up 4-2, but Redbank Valley tied the game with two in the bottom of the fifth. C-L went back in front, 5-4, with a run in the top of the sixth before the Lady Bulldogs took their first and only lead of the game with three in the bottom of the sixth.

Brooke Holben was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored for Redbank Valley with Dakota Hetrick going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs and Becca Kunselman going 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Dakota Hetrick got the win allowing five runs on 12 hits while striking out three.

Abby Carl hit a home run for C-L and was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Megan Stahlman was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Sadie Mahle also went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Lady Lions, and Megan Schimp was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Cassidy Makray took the loss in relief of Stahlman going three innings allowing five runs, three earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out three. Stahlman went three innings giving up two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out one.

KARNS CITY 2, MONITEAU 0

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. — Logan Byers pitched a six-hit shutout to lead visiting Karns City to a 2-0 win over Moniteau.

Byers went seven innings walking two and striking out four.

Alyssa Stitt and Kate Allen had RBIs for Karns City with Stitt going 1-for-2 with two walks and a run scored. Sami Grazioli was also 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Lady Gremlins.

Courtney Stewart took the loss going six innings allowing two unearned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out one.

Cassidy Claypoole and Amanda Dailey were both 2-for-3 for the Lady Warriors.
