Authorities ID Man Found Dead at Miola Crash Scene

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — Authorities in Clarion County have released the identity of a man found dead at the scene of an accident in Miola early Thursday morning.

According to Clarion County Coroner Randall Stom, the victim has been identified as 22-year-old Jeffrey Jonovich, of Ford City.

The cause of death has not yet been determined and an autopsy is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. today at the Erie County Coroner’s Office.

According to the Clarion County 9-1-1, the call came in at 2:49 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, for a report of a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Millcreek Road and Miola Road in Highland Township.

Clarion-based State Police, Clarion Hospital EMS, Clarion Fire and Hose Company No. 1 were dispatched to the scene.

A short time later, Clarion County Coroner Randall Stom was also called to the scene.

According to Stom, Jonovich was found in the vehicle was pronounced deceased at 3:40 a.m.

No further information has been released regarding details of the crash or other possible persons involved.

The incident remains under investigation by the Clarion County Coroner’s Office and Clarion-based State Police.
