Traffic Stop Leads to Nearly 100 Drug Charges for Brookville Woman

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Brookville woman is facing felony drug charges after police found her in possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia during a traffic stop in Brookville.

Court documents indicate the Brookville Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 38-year-old Destiny Ann Slaughenhaupt of Brookville.

According to a criminal complaint, on Friday, May 25, Officers Gallagher and Miller were on a patrol in the area of Main Street and Pickering Street when they witnessed a blue Subaru sedan with a center brake light that was not functioning.

The officers initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle turned onto Pickering Street, and the vehicle stopped in Buff’s parking lot.

Officer Gallagher approached the vehicle, and the driver identified herself as a known female. While Officer Gallagher was filling out a warning, Officer Miller asked the driver for permission to search the vehicle, which the driver gave.

The driver and her two passengers, a known male and Destiny Slaughenhaupt, were asked to exit the car.

According to the complaint, Officer Gallagher asked Slaughenhaupt what she had on her, and she said she had nothing. Officer Gallagher then asked her if she had a problem with him looking through her purse, and she stated she had no problem with it.

The complaint states that Slaughenhaupt then took out a small tan bag and stated that she had tampons in it. Officer Gallagher asked her to open it, and she refused. Officer Gallagher then asked her what she had in the bag.

According to the complaint, Slaughenhaupt was hesitant and then stated she had a pipe in the bag.

Officer Gallagher again asked her to open the bag, but, Slaughenhaupt allegedly tried to turn away and shield the bag, according to the complaint.

Officer Gallagher told her to give him the bag, and though Slaughenhaupt was upset, she finally handed it to him.

According to the complaint, the tan bag contained 24 unused plastic ziplock baggies, one black scale with residue, one large ziplock baggie containing a green leafy substance, one small ziplock baggie containing a green leafy substance, two small ziplock baggies containing a white crystal-like substance, a small red smoking pipe with residue, a large multi-colored marijuana pipe, a blue Penn State sock with a white/clear glass pipe with residue, a rolling paper roller, seven syringes, and $30.00 cash.

Slaughenhaupt was arraigned at 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, in Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Deal In Products Unlawful Act/Intent To Promote, Felony (51 counts)
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor (three counts)
– Possession Of Marijuana, Misdemeanor (two counts)
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor (42 counts)

Unable to post $25,000.00 cash bail, she was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
