Clarion Man Accused of Exposing Genitals to Women

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — A Clarion man is facing indecent exposure and related charges after allegedly exposing his genitals to two women in downtown Clarion.

Court documents indicate the Clarion-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 38-year-old Robert Daniel Martin, of Clarion, on August 8:

– Indecent Exposure, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)
– Open Lewdness, Misdemeanor 3 (two counts)

According to a criminal complaint, around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, Trooper Knight, of PSP Clarion, was traveling north on 5th Avenue in Clarion when a woman waved him down.

The woman stated that around 11:30 a.m., as she was walking along Wood Street, she stopped to remove something stuck on the bottom of her shoe. While she was stopped, a white male driving a silver Chevrolet pickup stopped at the nearby stop sign and yelled out of his vehicle window to her.

According to the victim, when she approached his truck and looked inside, the man raised his pelvic area and displayed his uncovered genitals. The victim said she then walked away and the vehicle made a right turn onto 5th Avenue, allowing her to note the registration number, according to the complaint.

Trooper Knight ran the registration through CLEAN/NCIC and obtained a photo of the registered owner of the vehicle, Robert Daniel Martin. The victim identified Martin as the man who had exposed himself to her.

According to the complaint, Trooper Knight interviewed Martin later that day, and Martin admitted to interacting with the victim at the location described but claimed he had a sex toy on his lap that he believed she must have seen.

On July 30, Trooper Knight was informed that a similar incident had occurred on June 9 near the intersection of Main Street and 8th Avenue in Clarion.

During an interview with Trooper Knight, the second victim stated she was waiting to pull out of a parking lot when she saw a silver Chevrolet Silverado go by her with the driver’s pelvic area lifted and his genitals exposed.

Trooper Knight showed the second victim a the photo of Martin, and she positively identified him as the individual who had exposed himself while driving by her, the complaint states.

Based on the investigation, charges against Martin were filed on Wednesday, August 8, in Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn’s office.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, with Judge Quinn presiding.
