162997Harry Arnold Dittman, 75, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday evening, August 23, 2018. He retired from the United States Department of Defense and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

He was born on August 19, 1943, in Lamartine, Pennsylvania, to the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Beals) Dittman. Harry was also preceded in death by his siblings, Jim, Bob, Walt, Bill, and Dorothy Belle Dittman.

Harry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Phyllis (Jones) Dittman; children, Julie Tonini (John), Debbie Zagray (Pete), Lori Lavalle (Luis), and Jeff Dittman (Carrie); siblings, Mary Jane Mullin (Daryl), Don Dittman (Mary Frances), Gene Dittman (Shirley), Nancy McClintock (Bob), Ken Dittman, and John Dittman; sisters-in-law, Betty, Marguerite, Fayrene, and Judy; and grandchildren, Cameron Tonini, Miles Tonini, Brittany Zagray, Brooke Zagray, Carter Dittman, and Michaela Lavalle; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Tuesday after 9:00 a.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church (129 West Daisy Lane, New Albany) with burial to follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
