Woman Loses Control of Pickup, Slams into Trees in Barnett Township

BARNETT TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A 28-year-old woman lost control of her pickup, traveled off the roadway, and crashed into a cluster of trees in Barnett Township on Thursday afternoon.

Marienville-based State Police say around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 28-year-old Josie L. Cornman, of Brockway, was traveling east on Loleta Road, south of Log Run Road, in Barnett Township, Forest County.

As she was attempting to negotiate a left-hand curve in the roadway, she lost control of her 2011 Chevrolet Silverado as its front passenger tire exited the road on the southern side. The vehicle continued to travel eastbound off the roadway and struck a log. It then spun counterclockwise and traveled northeast across the roadway, exiting on the northern side.

The vehicle then struck a cluster of trees on the passenger side and came to a final rest off the northern side of the roadway, facing southwest.

The vehicle was disabled at the scene.

Cornman was using a seat belt and escaped injury.

She was charged with a traffic violation.

Marienville Volunteer Fire Department, Clarion Hospital EMS, and Snyder’s Auto Body assisted at the scene.
