Hearing Set for Shippenville Man Accused of Shoving, Assaulting Pregnant Woman

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – A 25-year-old Shippenville man who allegedly shoved and assaulted a pregnant woman during a domestic dispute at a residence in Clarion Borough is due in court this week.

Court documents indicate that 25-year-old David James Campbell, of Shippenville, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary
– Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Summary

Campbell is currently free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

Details of the case:

Around 3:42 p.m. on Monday, August 20, Officer Wright, of the Clarion Borough Police Department, was dispatched to 82 S. 5th Avenue for a disturbance. While en route, dispatch informed him that it was a domestic dispute and that the actor had fled the scene in a purple Neon, according to a criminal complaint.

Officer Wright arrived on the scene and spoke to a known female victim. She stated that she and her boyfriend, David Campbell, engaged in a verbal altercation. The victim stated that she was standing in the doorway, and Campbell shoved her into the door and then grabbed her by her lower back on the right side and pinched her. Officer Wright observed broken skin and what appeared to be fingernail marks on the known female victim’s back. A photograph was obtained. The victim advised that Campbell left the residence with two other individuals, the complaint states.

A known witness reported that she saw Campbell shove the known female victim and claw her in the back, according to the complaint.

The complaint indicates that the known victim advised she was currently 10 weeks pregnant. She was complaining of stomach pains, and EMS was dispatched to the scene. She was transported to Clarion Hospital for evaluation.

Dispatch was then given a BOLO to locate Campbell.
