A representative from Venango County Office of Emergency Services reported that the crash occurred at 5756 Route 8 in Barkeyville, Irwin Township, around 9:20 p.m. on Monday, October 1.

According to Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Gerry Rea, his department was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash in Barkeyville near King’s Restaurant, at the intersection of Gibb Road and Route 8.

Franklin-based State Police and Superior Ambulance were also called to the scene.

Chief Rea told exploreClarion.com, “The blue car had just pulled out from Kings Restaurant, and the other car may have run a red light as the blue car was pulling onto Route 8.”

“The dark-colored vehicle crashed into the blue car that had two women in it.”

Chief Rea said that Superior Ambulance transported one woman to Grove City Hospital.

The dark-colored vehicle was occupied by two men who were uninjured.

Chief Rea said that “although traffic on both lanes was delayed off and on while the vehicles were being removed from the roadway, the southbound lane was not shut down for long periods of time, no longer than 15 minutes or so.”

The scene was cleared around 10:30 p.m.
