Details of the case:

According to a criminal case, around 3:00 p.m. on February 17, 2018, a known victim, of Strattanville Borough, was at a convenience store in Clarion with David Schrum. The victim needed to get gas for her vehicle and told Schrum to run inside and get $30.00 out of the ATM. The victim gave Schrum her debit card and told him the four-digit pin, and Schrum completed the ATM transaction and gave the victim the card and the money.

According to the complaint, later that day, Schrum and Cassandra Aldhizer gained entry to the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole her debit card. Schrum and Aldhizer then drove to the convenience store in Clarion around 9:55 p.m.

Video surveillance from the store shows that Aldhizer used the stolen debit card at the ATM at 9:56 p.m. but did not withdraw any funds from the account. Aldhizer then gave Schrum the card and a receipt of balance, and Schrum accessed the victim’s account and withdrew $200.00 from the ATM at approximately 9:58 p.m.

The complaint notes that bank records show that a transaction of $300.00 was made on February 17 at 9:58 p.m. at the convenience store.

According to the complaint, Aldhizer and Schrum then left the store with the money and the card.
