CLARION COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police responded to the following incidents:

Runaway Truck Ends Up in Stream

State Police said a known man parked his 1988 Ford F-150 by a fuel pump at Uni-Mart along Broad Street in New Bethlehem on October 23 around 10:44 p.m. The driver exited the vehicle and then went inside to pay for gas.

Police said the man “thought he put his vehicle into park, but was in reverse.” The vehicle drifted backwards by Newbie Wheel Alignment and into a stream.

When the cashier asked what pump the man was on, he “gave a confused look when he peered out the window and saw his truck was gone.” At that point, he ran outside and found his truck in a nearby stream. The man got back into his truck and drove it through the stream, traveling underneath the Route 28 overpass in the direction of the J M Smucker Company factory.

The driver told police that he thought he “found a good spot” to navigate the truck back onto the roadway; however, it became stuck on the embankment by Keck Avenue.

No injuries were reported.

Theft in Strattanville Area

State Police are investigating the theft of scrap metal from a property along Rehobeth Road in Clarion Township.

The incident happened on or around October 29 when unknown persons removed a hot water tank, a stove, a refrigerator, and an air conditioner from the property.

The total value of the items is listed at $40.

Disorderly Conduct in Paint Township

Clarion-based State Police responded to a disorderly conduct incident on November 2 around 5:30 p.m. when a 41-year-old man went to the victim’s residence and yelled at the victim.
