Traffic Accident, Utility Poles Damaged by Snow Plows Led to Comcast Outages in Clarion, Jefferson, Clearfield Counties

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Snow related-accidents were the cause of Comcast internet outages in parts of Clearfield, Jefferson, Clarion, Venango and Butler Counties, according to Bob Grove, Comcast’s Vice President for Communications, Keystone Region.

“Some customers in western Clearfield County and portions of Jefferson and Clarion Counties have been impacted by damage done to our network by two separate incidents,” Grove told EYT Media in an e-mail. “A vehicle hit a pole on Route 286 near Clymer, Pa., (Friday) morning and a snow plow damaged multiple poles along Route 861 between Rimersburg and New Bethlehem. Our crews responded immediately and have completed some repairs and continue to work to restore services, and we thank our customers for their patience.”

Grove confirmed that the issues also affecting parts of Venango and Butler Counties was caused by the same problem.

As of 4:28 p.m., Grove said service had been restored to all customers.
