Distracted Driver Crashes into Concrete Barrier on Interstate 80

BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier along Interstate 80 in Beaver Township early Tuesday morning.

According to police, around 6:09 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20, Jody L. Resseguie, 59, of Hallstead, was operating traveling west on Interstate 80 near the 58.6 mile marker in a 2017 Ford Edge.

Resseguie became distracted as he looked down at his gas gauge which resulted in the vehicle exiting the right side of the roadawy where it struck a concrete barrier, according to police.

Resseguie and his passenger — 56-year-old Eileen M. Resseguie of Hallstead — were both wearing seatbelts and were not injured.

The left front tie rod of the vehicle broke as a result of the collision. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Frye’s Garage.
