Earnest J. “Ernie” Dawson, 81, of Franklin passed away on Friday December 7, 2018 at Grove City Medical Center.

Born in Belfry, KY on April 17, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ethel Muncy Dawson.

Ernie proudly served his Country in the United States Army Airborne during the Korean Conflict.

He worked for many years as a Union Electrician and then owned and operated his own business, Dawson Electric.

Ernie enjoyed antique cars and attending flea markets, gun shows and car shows.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason.

Ernie attended First United Methodist Church in Franklin.

On September 8, 1984 he married the former Barbara A. Vath and she survives.

Also surviving is a daughter, Brenda Armstrong of Ohio; a step daughter, Michelle Burgess of Alabama; six grandchildren, Brent Armstrong of OH, Danny Armstrong, of OH, Brooke Armstrong, of VA, Jimmy Morris, of OH, Candace Morris, of VA and Charity Morris, of VA; eight great-grandchildren

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Sue Morris.

Funeral arrangements to Huff – Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. on Saturday

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wade Berkey, Pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
