martha-craig-virginia-beach-va-obituaryMartha H. Craig, of Virginia Beach, formerly of Clarion, PA, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. She was 89.

She was the daughter of the late John Ray Gourley and Ella Brown Gourley of Monroe Township, PA. She graduated from Clarion High School.

Ms. Craig had been employed at the American Standard Razor plant in Shippenville, Jerri’s Shoppe in Clarion, and later at J.C. Penney at the Clarion Mall until her retirement.

Surviving are two sons, William J. Craig and wife Susan Turner of Camp Hill, PA., Bruce H. Craig and wife Lisa of Butler, PA., and a daughter Brenda C. Lenhart of Virginia Beach, VA. She was preceded in death by her daughter Beth Ann Craig Yates, (Greg) of Nevada, in November 2005. Grandchildren include April Craig Shaffer (Peter) of Bethesda, MD., Randall C. Lenhart, (Kelly) of Chesapeake, VA., Stephanie G. Lenhart (Christina) of Virginia Beach, VA., Rachel J. Yates and Chloe E. Yates of Reno, NV. She is survived by four great grandchildren, Ryan and Ryker Lenhart of Chesapeake, VA., and Aidan and Amelia Shaffer of Bethesda, MD.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Col. Harold Gourley, Cecil Gourley, Paul Gourley and three sisters, Betty Pierce, Bonnie Love and Thelma McMunn.

Ms. Craig was a member of the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Shippenville, PA.

Interment will be at a later date at the Clarion Cemetery. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
