State Police Release Information on Crash in Monroe Township; Two-People Injured

MONROE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State police have released the details of a two-vehicle crash in Monroe Township that sent two people to the Clarion Hospital.

According to Clarion-based State Police, this crash occurred on Sunday, December 9, around 12:18 p.m. on State Route 68 at its intersection with Interstate 80 westbound ramp in Monroe Township, Clarion County.

Police say 83-year-old Sarah E. Parkes, of Clarion, was in the left turning lane of Route 68 in a 2008 Suzuki XL7.

A 2014 Subaru Impreza driven by 34-year-old Amber K. Jackson, of Templeton, was traveling south on Route 68 coming through the intersection in the left lane.

The Suzuki had a solid green light and proceeded to make a left turn onto the I-80 westbound on-ramp and did so without yielding to the southbound traffic that also had a solid green light.

As the Suzuki was negotiating a left turn, the Subaru impacted its passenger’s front door.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

Sarah Parkes and her passenger 85-year-old James H. Parkes, of Clarion, were not injured.

Clarion Hospital EMS transported Amber Jackson and her passenger 31-year-old Andrew C. Jackson, of Templeton, to Clarion Hospital for suspected minor injuries.

All occupants were using seat belts.

Parkes was charged with a traffic violation.
