Two Men Face Charges Following Drug-Related DUI Crash on Interstate 80

BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Two men are facing drug charges following a DUI crash on Interstate 80 in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

A released issued by Clarion-based State Police on December 15 indicates the accident happened on December 6 around 9:30 a.m. along Interstate 80 westbound near mile marker 56.

Further investigation revealed that the driver — Carlos Cabrera, 46, of Youngstown, Ohio — was allegedly under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident.

Cabrera waived the following charges before Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk at a December 11 preliminary hearing:

  • Marijuana-Small Amount Personal Use, Misdemeanor
  • DUI: Controlled Substance — Impaired Ability — 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
  • Fail To Keep Right, Summary
  • Disregard Traffic Lane (Single), Summary
  • Careless Driving, Summary
  • Reckless Driving, Summary

A passenger in the vehicle — Jose Caraballo, 30, of Elroy, Wisconsin — was found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia

Caraballo waived the following charges before Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk at a December 11 preliminary hearing:

  • Int. Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
  • Marijuana-Small Amount Personal Use, Misdemeanor
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

Both cases have been transferred to the Clarion County Court of Common Pleas.

Cabrera and Caraballo are free on $5,000 unsecured bail each.
