Tabor PhotoMarian Joan Tabor, formerly of Cooksburg, passed away on March 21, 2019 in Erie surrounded by her family. She was 83 years of age.

Marian was born on January 8, 1936 in Clarion, the daughter of the late Roy Glenn and Florence Catherine (Deubler) Wensel. She was married to Walter D. Tabor who has also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children; a son, Jerry Wynkoop (Denise) of Sigel; and daughters, April Burney (Tim) of Erie, Christina Keener (George) of Clarion, and Debra Boden (Larry) of Hollywood MD; her 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition, she is survived by her two sisters, Carolyn Himes of Clarion, and Ruby Marlene Wolfe of Sarasota, FL. She was a very hard working, strong, faithful, loving woman and was loved by many. She will be greatly missed.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers-in-law.

Known as an wonderful baker and cook, Marian shared her talents with her family and friends, helping whenever and wherever she could. She built her own home, a cabin in Hastings, MI, that she tended to, added on to, and maintained. She learned new construction skills and shared those with her family as well. She loved building and her family called on her for advice and help, which she always was willing to give.

Family was important to her. Marian enjoyed genealogy, tracing her family’s history as far and wide as she could.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Randy Kightlinger, chaplain, Family Hospice of Erie, officiating. Interment will be at Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
