Vehicle Slams into Tree Off Route 36

ELDRED TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State police responded to a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Friday night on State Route 36 in Eldred Township.

According to Marienville-based State Police, around 10:26 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 36-year-old Kristy M. Slimmer, of Reading, Pa., was traveling northbound on Route 36 in Eldred Township, Jefferson County. Her 2006 Jeep Wrangler began to slide on the roadway, exited the right side of the road, and struck a tree.

The Jeep received disabling damage to the passenger’s side rear wheel.

Police say Slimmer suffered suspected minor injuries but refused medical assistance.

She was using a seat belt.

She was charged with a traffic violation.

Sigel Volunteer Fire Department assisted with traffic control as both lanes of Route 36 remained open and clear.
