Knox Woman Accused of Punching, Scratching Man During Domestic Dispute

MONROE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Knox woman was arrested after she allegedly assaulted a man during a domestic dispute at a hotel in Monroe Township.

Court documents indicate the Clarion-based State Police filed the following charges against 40-year-old Sherry Lynn Ganci, of Knox:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

The charges stem from a domestic incident that occurred at a hotel in Monroe Township, Clarion County.

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:16 p.m., on Saturday, March 30, Trooper Fluke, of the Clarion-based State Police, made contact with a known male. He observed the known male had a raised bump under his left eye and three raised nail marks on the left side of his throat.

The victim reported that he had an argument with Sherry Lynn Ganci, and she pushed him out of the room, then punched him in the left side of the face with a closed fist, causing a red raised bump below his eye. Ganci also allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat, leaving three scratches from fingernails on the left side of his neck, according to the complaint.

Trooper Fluke then made contact with Ganci. She allegedly admitted that she struck the victim in the face and grabbed him by the throat in an attempt to get him to leave the room, the complaint indicates.

She was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill at 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 30.

Unable to post $2,500.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Clarion County Jail on March 30.

She was released on Monday, April 1, on a surety posted by a professional bondsman.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, with Judge Schill presiding.
