The Clarion office of Janney Montgomery Scott is partnering once again with their clients and the community to focus on helping to feed children in need in the Clarion County Schools. Their mission is to help support disadvantaged children and help them flourish while enhancing their development. The Clarion County Schools have developed programs which distribute food to over 775 children to take home on weekends.

The campaign runs April through May, and the office of Janney Montgomery Scott will be collecting wish list donations for the children to take home with them on the weekends while school is in session.

Donations are being collected at their office located at 162 S. 2nd Avenue, Applewood Center, Clarion, PA 16214.

Wish list: All items should be individual servings, microwaveable, easy-open, and glass-free.

Some of the items on the list are Applesauce, Granola Bars, Macaroni & Cheese, Fruit Cups, Juice Boxes, Peanut Butter Crackers, Graham Crackers, Cereal/Oatmeal, and Raviolios/Spaghettios.

Janney Montgomery Branch Manager, Matthew Lerch told exploreClarion.com, “Our pilot program was born last year after a Clarion Rotary program was presented about the need for food for disadvantaged children at the Clarion-Limestone School District.

“We discovered that most Clarion (County) schools had developed a Friendship Bag Program and several were in the early stages of development. We contacted the Clarion County schools and the rest was history.

“Through the generosity of our clients and community members, we collected over $1,200 in monetary and food donations in 2018; we are working diligently to surpass that number in 2019.”
